BGVB Tabbed To Win East Division, MAC Tournament In MAC Preseason Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The 2022 Mid-American Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll was released by the conference on Wednesday morning (Aug. 24). Bowling Green was picked to finish first in the East Division receiving 11 first place votes, as voted on by the conference's 12 head coaches. In addition to being picked to win the east division, the Falcons were predicted to win the MAC Tournament as well with seven votes.

On the Preseason All-MAC Teams, BGSU saw three players named to the East Division Preseason All-MAC Team, the most selections for a single team across the conference. Petra Indrova, Katelyn Meyer and Julia Walz were all selected to the East Division Preseason All-MAC Team. All three were named to the All-MAC First Team following the 2021 season with Walz being named the MAC Defensive Player of the Year and Indrova the MAC Player of the Year.

In the East Division the Falcons received 71 points in the vote, including 11 first place votes. Ohio was selected to finish second with 59 points while Kent State came in third with 40 points and the other first place vote for the East. As for the West Division, Ball State received all 12 first place votes, resulting in 72 points. Western Michigan came in second with 55 points. In the Tournament Champion predictions, Bowling Green received seven votes, Ball State had four and Western Michigan had one.

4. Northern Illinois - 32 points
5. Central Michigan - 29 points
6. Eastern Michigan - 15 points
