BGSU Opens 2023 Season at MAC Foe Northern Illinois on Sunday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -Â The Bowling Green gymnastics team opens its 2023 season on Sunday in DeKalb, Ill., against MAC foe Northern Illinois. The event starts at 2 p.m. at NIU's Convocation Center. The Falcons return 17 members from the 2022 squad and have added seven new gymnasts to the roster.

Bowling Green is 14-12 all-time against NIU. The Huskies have won four-straight meets over the Falcons. BGSU last win was in 2018 at Anderson Arena.

Bowling Green's Taylor Jensen won the all-around when she tied her personal best with a 39.350 during last year's meet against the Huskies in. It also tied for the eighth-best in program history in the event. Jensen also had the best vault score of the meet (9.875) and tied for the meet high on the floor (9.925). Jensen tied her career high on vault and set a new standard on floor, which is tied for ninth all-time in BGSU program history on the floor. Â
Next Up:Â Bowling Green is next in action on Sat., Jan. 14 when BGSU travels to Tucson, Ariz., for Arizona's quad-meet with Illinois and Texas Woman's University. The start time is 4 p.m. Illinois is ranked No. 23 in the preseason by the WCGA and Arizona is ranked No. 25.
