Falcons Sit in Second Place After Day One of Zips Classic

AKRON, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team completed the first day of competition today at the Zips Classic. The Orange and Brown currently sit in 2nd place with 293 points.
It was no shock to the Falcons that Senior Diver Rayah Blood opened competition the way she did. In her first event of the season Blood came home with an event win in the 1-Meter Dive thanks to a score of 256.60. The Falcon relay teams then added two top 10 finishes in the 400 Medley Relay placing 3rd and 7th with respective times of 3:46.83 and 3:53.87.
Falcon Freshman Blanca Sanz then swam to a third-place finish in her first individual event for the Orange and Brown. Sanz finished with a time of 5:01.76 in the 500 Freestyle. Senior Ava Vial was right on her toes with a fourth-place finish and a time of 5:02.95. The Falcon relay team of Morgan Sokol, Julianna Petrak, and Abby Toepfer, and Ava Vial then swam to the final top 5 finish of the night with a time of 7:44.24 in the 800 Freestyle.
