CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team competed against Cleveland State earlier today. The Falcons captured victory against the Vikings by a score of 165-135.

The Falcon's divers set the tone for the dual meet. The same three divers swept the 1-Meter and 3-Meter diving. Freshman Natalia Mayorga won the 1-Meter and 3-Meter with respective scores of 258.45, and 273.30. In both events Mayorga was followed by fellow Falcons Evie Long and reigning MAC Diver of the Week Rayah Blood.

The swimmers came away with 6 more event wins to add onto the divers' two. Emily McNicol did what she does best and won the 100 and 200 Backstroke with times of 56.35 and 2:05.14. Joanna Robertson for the 2^nd straight weekend won the 100 Breaststroke and did so with a time of 1:05.55 for this afternoon's event. Senior Riley McNichols added her first win of the season with a time of 57.72. McNichols also finished 2^nd in the 50 Free with a time of 24.21.

Senior swimmer Ava Vial also capitalized in Cleveland. Vial won the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.45. Vial was then followed on the podium with fellow Falcons Maddie Bond and Lily Kaiser. Vial also added a 2^nd place finish in 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:24.58.

RICKEY'S REACTIONS
"Today's win was a team effort. We didn't win as many events as we hoped but the team depth came through when we needed it. Diving carried us with the divers going 1,2, and 3. Our flyers also went 1,2, and 3 in the 100 Butterfly. Our 200 IM crew swept the last individual event. We will go back to work on Monday to get ready for Ohio at home."

UP NEXT
The Falcons come home to Cooper Pool for their first home meet of the season against Akron. The meet will start at 1 p.m. on October 28^th.
