Hovey Named MAC East Offensive Player Of The Week For Second Straight Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Players of the Week Monday afternoon (Oct. 23). Of those named, Bowling Green's Lauryn Hovey was named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. This is the sixth time the Falcons have received weekly awards this season and the third time for Hovey and her fifth offensive recognition of her career.
Hovey led a ferocious attack for the Falcons over the last week that registered an attack percentage of at least .417 in all three matches as a team. Hovey led the team in kills in all three matches, landing 13, 16 and 15, respectively, while hitting .391, .481 and .542 in those matches. Hovey also landed a total of 10 aces, leading the team, over the course of the week, including matching her career-high with five in Saturday's match.

The Falcons will return to the road for their next four matches, beginning with a split week. The Falcons will first travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to take on Eastern Michigan on Thursday (Oct. 26) before heading to Mount Pleasant, Mich. on Friday (Oct. 27) against Central Michigan. Both matches are set for 6 p.m. starts.
