Lauryn Hovey Earns Third Straight MAC East Offensive Player Of The Week Award

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Players of the Week Monday afternoon (Oct. 30). Of those named, Bowling Green's Lauryn Hovey was named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive week. This is the seventh time the Falcons have received weekly awards this season and the fourth time for Hovey and her sixth offensive recognition of her career.

Hovey had a career weekend for the Falcons. In the five-set match against Central Michigan, Hovey landed a career-high 32 kills on a career-high 65 attack attempts while maintaining a .369 hitting percentage, leading the team in all three categories. The 32 kills for Hovey marks a program-record for kills in a match during the rally-scoring era and just three shy of the all-time record. In each of BGSU's two matches, Hovey added nine digs to her stat line, coming up just one dig shy of a double-double in each match. Hovey also landed a team-high three aces in the match against Central Michigan.

The Falcons will continue their road trip next weekend with a pair of matches against the Akron Zips. Friday's match (Nov. 3) is set for 6 p.m. while Saturday (Nov. 4) will begin at 4 p.m. BGSU will then return home on Nov. 10 to begin a three-match homestand to close out the regular season, starting with two matches against Buffalo before hosting Miami (OH).
