Wednesday Baseball Moved Up To 2:30 First Pitch
March 22, 2023 | Baseball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Wednesday's (March 22) baseball game between Bowling Green and Youngstown State has been moved up to a 2:30 p.m. first pitch at Steller Field. Originally scheduled for 3 p.m., the start has been bumped up due to impending weather later this afternoon. The game between BGSU and Youngstown State will mark the second of five straight home games this week for Bowling Green, scheduled to host Miami (OH) this upcoming weekend.
Bowling Green is coming off an 8-6 win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday (March 21) in the BGSU home opener. The Orange and Brown were paced by three home runs as a team, tallying three runs in both the third and sixth innings to claim the victory. The Falcons are now winners in two straight and will look to extend their winning ways on Wednesday.
The Falcons and Penguins have played 17 times in program history with Youngstown State leading the series 12-5. Despite the overall series leaning to Youngstown State, Bowling Green has won the last two matchups. In 2020, BGSU snagged a 2-1 win on the road and in 2019 the Falcons picked up a 15-5 victory at home. The pair of wins snapped a 10-game losing streak against the Penguins that stretched from 2007 until 2018.
