Katrina Mendez Abolnik Caps 2023 Gymnastics Season for the Falcons at the NCAA Regionals

PITTSBURGH – Katrina Mendez Abolnik competed as an individual on vault at the Pittsburgh Regional on Thursday afternoon as part of the 2023 NCAA Gymnastic Regionals. The Pittsburgh Regional was contested at the Petersen Events Center on the campus of Pittsburgh University.
Mendez Abolnik was unable to land her very difficult vault with a 10.0 start value. She was given a 9.225 score. Mendez Abolnik is the first Falcon that competed at an NCAA Regional as an individual since Jovannah East and Lauren DeMeno in 2019. East competed in the all-around while DeMeno competed on vault. Mendez Abolnik marks the 42nd individual performance by a Falcon all-time in an NCAA Regional
