CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Players and Pitcher of the Week Monday afternoon (April 3). Of those named, Nathan Rose was named a Co-Player of the week alongside Western Michigan's Cade Sullivan. The award is the first weekly award of the season for Bowling Green and the first of Rose's collegiate career.
Rose was an integral part of BGSU's 3-1 week, extending his hitting streak to nine games and his on-base streak to 13 games with 18 RBI during his hitting streak. Over four games this past week, Rose hit .353 at the plate with two doubles, a home run, six RBI and 11 total bases for a .647 slugging percentage.
Rose began the weekend with three RBI in the series opener 12-3 victory at Central Michigan. He followed it up by accounting for two of BGSU's three runs in the 3-2 come-from-behind win on Saturday (April 1). Rose hit a solo home run, his team-leading fifth of the season, to tally the first BGSU run. He later came around to score in the top of the ninth, tying the game before the Falcons took the lead in the next at-bat for the eventual win to secure the series victory.
On the year, Rose is batting .289 and leads the team with 23 RBI. He's posted a team-high .567 slugging percentage to go along with team-highs in both doubles with eight and home runs with five on top of having one of BGSU's three triples. As for in the field, he's posted a .974 fielding percentage, seeing time at second, third and shortstop over the course of the season thus far.
