Falcons Begin 2024 Hosting Early Bird Open

Falcons host Dayton and Ohio on Friday afternoon.
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio— The Bowling Green track and field team are set to continue the indoor season this weekend, when they host the Early Bird Open. The meet will be held in Perry Field House on Friday, January 12. Field events will begin at 4 p.m. and running events start at 5 p.m. This is the second and final home indoor meet of the season.
Early Bird Open Information
The Falcons will be hosting Dayton as well as conference member Ohio University on Friday in Perry Field House. Dayton has competed in two meets while Ohio is competing in their first of the season on Friday. Field events will begin at 4:00 p.m. starting with the weight throw and shot put. Followed by the high jump and pole vault. The long jump will begin at 4:30 and the triple jump will be at 6:15 p.m.
The running events will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the 60m (prelim) followed by the mile at 5:20. The 300m will begin at 5:40 p.m. followed by the 60m hurdle (final) and the 60m dash (final) at 6:05 p.m. At 6:15 p.m. five members of the Bowling Green Men's Cross-Country team will be participating in the 3,000m. To follow will be the 800m at 6:30 and 200m at 6:40 p.m. The two last events will be the women's 3,000 at 6:50 followed by the 4x400m relay at 7:10 p.m.

Parking is available for free at Perry Field House. Admission is also free, but fans are encouraged to bring monetary donations that will be donated to the Falcon Food Pantry. Breaking Down Bowling Green
The Falcons have competed once this season, hosting the Tom Wright Open on December 9. Senior, Tianna Mulligan ran a 1:35.47 in the 600m which placed her second all-time in school history. While sophomore, Bianca Staples made her way onto the record book in the high jump. Staples jumped a 5' 8.5 which now makes her fifth all-time as well as setting a personal record.
Five Falcons placed firs in the Tom Wright Open including Alexsia Davis, Mateya Haintz and Reagan Campbell in their respected events. Davis ran a 1:01.05 in the 400, Campbell ran a 25.49 in the 200 while Haint threw a 55'5' in the weight throw. Staples also placed first in the triple jump (37' 6 ¾).

The Falcons will compete in their first road meet on Saturday, January 20 when they travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan. They will compete against Eastern Michigan in the Bob Parks Memorial Invitational at 10:00 a.m. For official start times and information, be sure to visit BGSUFalcons.com.
