Falcons Split Among Busy Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team will compete tomorrow in their last meet before MAC Championships starting on February 28th.

The Falcons will be fresh coming from a week's rest. The Falcons last time in the pool was a tri-meet against Buffalo and Toledo. Over the two-day meet the Falcons fell to both the Rockets and Bulls. The divers will head to Louisville to take on Cincinnati and Louisville while the swimmers head to Columbus for Ohio State's Winter Invitational.
Diver Rayah Blood won the 1-Meter Diving, but it was not scored in the final meet results. Blood finished with a score of 269.85. Blood also placed fourth in the first event of the tri-meet on the 3-Meter boards. Blood secured the fourth spot thanks to a score of 257.65.
The 1-Meter was a strong event for the Falcons, sweeping the podium. Evie Long posted another strong outing placing second. Long snatched silver soaring to a score of 259.05. Close on her heels with her own strong performance was Sarah Butt with a score of 255.98.
Seven swimmers will head to Columbus for Ohio State's Winter Invitational. Swimmers Carlie Blaesing, Christy Harper, Sam Heywood, Rylie Kennedy, Martina Stefinec, and Mary Ellen Wolff are the traveling swimmers.
