Falcons Fall to Buffalo and Toledo in Last Tri-Meet of season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet today against Buffalo and Toledo on their Senior Night. The Falcons were swept on the weekend falling to the Bulls 217.5-135.5 and 183-170.
Friday night was the Falcons' senior night where 11 of the Falcon family were recognized. Rayah Blood, Livia Castro, Namie Edge, Grace Ellis, Christy Harper, Karen Krosky, Riley McNichols, Martina Stefinec, Ava Vial, Gabby Vitela, and Mary Ellen Wolff were all recognized for their efforts over the course of their careers.
Friday night the Falcons didn't come away with any event wins but produced a strong effort. Friday saw three second place finishes for the Falcons. Senior Namie Edge came away with the Falcons' first silver placement in the 200 Breaststroke thanks to a time of 2:26.37. Edge was quickly followed by Grace Bodrock taking second in the 200 Butterfly with an effort of 2:05.54, a mere two milliseconds off the leader. The Falcons last second place finish came from one of the Senior Captains. Ava Vial placed second on the podium in the 200 IM thanks to a time of 2:07.42.
Saturday the Falcons saw their lone event win of the weekend meet. Senior Captain Ava Vial came up huge again in the second IM event of the weekend. Ava Vial snatched victory in Toledo in the 400 IM with a time of 4:32.78.
Friday may have been for the seniors, but Saturday was a freshman frenzy. Blanca Sanz took third in the first individual event of the day in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:08.89. Fellow Falcon freshman Joanna Robertson then placed fourth in the 200 Free with a time of 1:56.18.
