Snelling Adds Candace Archer To Coaching Staff

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- Bowling Green State University head cross country/track and field coach Lou Snelling has announced the addition of assistant coach Candace Archer to the staff. Archer will serve as the Assistant Track and Field / Cross Country coach. Archer's responsibilities will include recruiting, operations for women's XC/TF and men's cross country. Along with home meet management and coaching the BGSU men's cross country team.
Archer joins the BGSU TF/XC program after coaching at Columbia University for two years, assisting in multiple All-Ivy Conference performances including a win in the Indoor Women's Distance Medley Relay in 2022.
Before Archer started her coaching career, she was a student-athlete for six years at West Virginia University competing in Women's Cross Country and Track. Archer is a decorated collegiate athlete, collecting All Region at the Mid Atlantic Cross-Country Country Championships in 2019 along with multiple All Big 12 Conference performances. These performances included the 1,000 meter run and Women's Distance Medley Run.
Archer has Master's Degree in Coaching and Sport Education (2021) and Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Communications (2019). Archer is also USATF level one certified.
