Falcons Open 2026 Gymnastics Season on Sunday Against Eastern Michigan

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University (BGSU) opens the 2026 gymnastics season on Sunday, January 11, against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The meet, marking the start of Mid-American Conference (MAC) play at the Stroh Center, begins at 2 p.m.Â

• There will be a kids clinic after the meet.Â
ADMISSION AND ATTENDANCE GUIDELINESÂ
• Admission for Sunday's meet is $7. Gates open at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time online. Click here to purchase your tickets.Â
• The concession stand will open at 1 p.m.Â
• All parking lots surrounding the Stroh Center are free of charge

• No outside food or drink will be allowed.Â
IN THE RANKINGSÂ
• Eastern Michigan finished the 2025 season No.50 in the Road to National rankings, just as they did in 2024, this also includes finishing No.40 on beam, No.46 on bars, No.56 on vault and No.52 on floor.Â
• Bowling Green finished the 2025 season No.59 in the Road to National rankings, which included No.55 on vault, No.56 on bars, No.69 on beam and No. 56 on floor.Â
ALL-TIME SERIESÂ
• This will be the 59th time these two teams will square off against one another, where the Falcons vs. Eagles record is tied at 29-29.Â
• Of the 29 wins the Falcons have over the Eagles, 22 are at home, posting a 22-7 record against Eastern Michigan in Bowling Green.Â
EASTERN MICHIGANÂ
• Eastern Michigan opens up their season on Sunday against the Falcons.Â
• The Eagles topped BGSU, 194.925 to 193.100 the last time they met.Â
• Eastern Michigan has won 8 of the last 10 meets against BGSU.Â

• Leading the Falcons is head coach Brittney Emmons, who is entering her second season at the Helm for the Orange and Brown.
• Coach Emmons brings along two new assistant coaches for the 2026 season, adding Stephen Averginos and Megan Keller to the coaching staff.
• Juniors Megan Dzialo and Keira Thornton were named 2026 MAC Gymnasts to Watch for the upcoming season.Â
• This is the second time in three years BGSU kicks off a season at the Stroh Center.Â
