BGSU Eyes Second Straight MAC Outdoor Title
May 13, 2026 | Women's Track and Field
MUNCIE, Ind. β This weekend, Bowling Green track and field aims not just to make history, but to repeat it.
One year ago, the Falcons won the Mid-American Conference Outdoor title for the first time since 1981. With multiple athletes set for scoring position, BGSU enters this week's MAC Outdoor Championships prepared to defend that crown.
The meet begins May 14 at 10 a.m. at the Briner Complex with the heptathlon and hammer throw.
Bowling Green's greatest strength figures to come in the mid-distance events. Sophomore Rachael Hoover has been blistering, setting a school record in the 800 meters just over a week ago at the Duke Twilight with a 2:05.01, the fastest mark in the MAC this season and the second-fastest recorded in the conference since at least 2013. Reese Reaman has been nearly as impressive, posting the program's second-best all-time mark at the same meet with a 2:08.67.
The Falcons are equally dangerous in the 1,500 meters. Kylee Cubbison owns the top conference mark this season, a school record of 4 minutes, 15.16 seconds. Hoover is right behind her, ranked third in the MAC and second in program history with a 4:16.91 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
In distance events, Cubbison also brings the fifth-fastest MAC time in the 5,000 meters (16:16.03). In the 10,000 meters, Regina Rose has scoring potential with a 34:48.96 mark that ranks ninth in the conference.
Kiersten Franklin's sprinting ability will be on full display. The senior is entered in the 100 and 200 meters, posting top-eight conference times in both, and will also run legs of the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
In the hurdles, Alexsia Davis, Viktorie Krizova and Christabelle Obi will compete in the 400 meter hurdles, while Obi will return for the 100 meter hurdles alongside Morgan Patterson. Both Davis and Krizova enter on an upward trajectory, each recently setting personal bests in the 400 meter hurdles.
The 400 meters will feature Reagan Campbell, Tyyetta Herman and Syerra Greber. Campbell ranks ninth in the conference with a personal best of 54.87 seconds, but sits less than a second out of third place.
In the field, Kiera Bonds leads Bowling Green's jumpers after setting the school record in the long jump with a 6.19-meter leap in Louisville; Patterson is also a podium contender. In the triple jump, Bianca Staples (12.86 meters) and Sabrina Imes (12.62 meters) each hold top-five conference marks and are positioned to medal.
In the throws, Grace Bradtmueller, Karma Williams, Sydney Williams and Sierra Podolan will compete in the hammer, while Sierra Brinson targets a podium finish in the shot put with a mark of 14.27 meters. Lily Tomasheski has shown steady growth in the javelin throughout the outdoor season, breaking her personal record multiple times in the past two months. Brinson, Podolan, Natalie Vrancken and Emma Hoffman will cap the throws group's efforts with a run in the discus on Saturday.
Finally, senior Jenna Lucas opens her heptathlon campaign Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. with the 100 meter hurdles.
