Hoover Earns Second MAC Track Athlete of the Week Honor of the Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Rachael Hoover earned her second Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week honor after a standout performance in Durham, N.C., on Sunday, breaking her own school record in the 800 meters and notching a top-15 finish.
Racing against some of the top competition on the East Coast, the sophomore placed 11th at the Duke Twilight in the 800m, clocking a 2:05.01 that stands as the top mark in the MAC. The time is also the second-fastest in the conference since at least 2013 and currently ranks 87th nationally.
The honor marks the fourth time Bowling Green has earned the award this season and the second time during the 2026 outdoor campaign. Hoover will return to the track on May 14 for the MAC Championship.
