Bowling Green Heads to Kalamazoo for George Dales Invite
September 17, 2026 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Bowling Green men's and women's cross country teams travel to Kalamazoo on Friday for the George Dales Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan at the Prairies Golf Club. The meet opens at 10 a.m. with the women's 6K and concludes with the Jack Shaw men's 8K at 10:45 a.m.
Both teams last competed at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Open, which BGSU hosted. On the women's side, the Falcons ran a 5K dual meet against Ohio, where Lexi Panning posted a third-place finish and a personal record and Northern Kentucky transfer Maggie Foust placed fifth in her BGSU debut. In the men's 5K, junior Owen Zaumeyer finished fourth overall and freshman Aiden Lee placed fifth in his collegiate debut.
Friday's races move up in distance for both squads — 6K for the women and 8K for the men. The women won the last time they competed at the George Dales Invitational and will look to repeat that result. The men return after an eighth-place finish a year ago.
Five other MAC teams will be in the field: Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan.
