2002: Finished her Falcon tenure with a career total of 1,024 kills, ranking her 10th in school history ... ranks 11th in school annals in total attempts, with 2,408 ... played in all 30 matches ... saw action in all 112 games ... was named to the MAC Honor Roll ... led the Falcons in hitting percentage (.255; 416-155-1022) ... had 177 digs on the season, including 20 vs. Ohio ... led the Falcons with 416 kills, including a 26-kill night at IPFW.
2001: Earned All-MAC Honorable Mention ... named to the MAC Honor Roll for the second-straight year, and also was named Academic All-MAC ... played in all 29 matches, making two starts ... had 407 kills and an average of 3.84 kills per game to rank second on the team in both categories ... also ranked second with 28 solo blocks, and was third with 92 total blocks ... had 21 matches with double-digit kill totals, including nine of the season[apos]s final 10 contests ... was the MAC Player of the Week after recording 21 kills on back-to-back nights, in wins over CMU and Akron ... had a season-high 29 kills in win at Indiana, one of six matches with 20-plus kills ... hit .400 or better four times, including a .441 effort (21-6-34) vs. CMU ... had a career-high five solo blocks at Ball State ... had career-best totals of six block assists and eight total blocks twice, at Buffalo and in the MAC Tournament win over WMU ... career-high nine digs came against EMU ... named to the All-Tournament Team at Michigan State[apos]s Coca-Cola Spartan Invitational.
2000: Played in 23 matches, making four starts ... saw action in a total of 61 games ... hit .325, the second-best average on the team, with 3.26 kills per game ... shared the team[apos]s Most Improved Player award ... exploded onto the scene in mid-October ... entered the Oct. 13 Buffalo match with a career total of 20 kills ... in that match, set then-career highs with 15 kills and a .458 hitting percentage ... then, smashed those marks the next night, with 26 kills and a .524 hitting pct. ... that weekend effort earned her both the MAC[apos]s Offensive Player of the Week and the league[apos]s Scholar-Athlete of the Week awards ... beginning with that UB match, had a total of 70 kills in a four-match, eight-day span ... hit .467 with 5.00 kpg in those four matches, all wins ... in the final 14 matches of the year, totalled 181 kills as BG went 12-2 ... hit .341 with a team-best 3.85 kpg during that span ... beginning with the UB contest, had eight consecutive matches with double-digit kill totals ... prior to that time, her career high was six kills ... hit .317 with 3.66 kpg in MAC matches ... just missed ranking among the MAC leaders in each category ... did not meet the league[apos]s required minimum of playing in two-thirds of the contests ... if she had played in two more MAC games, would have ranked fifth in hitting pct. and 10th in kpg ... named to the MAC Honor Roll ... hit a career-best .650 in a win at Cleveland State ... had five block assists, also a career high, in that match.
1999: Played in six matches off the bench, in a total of six games ... had two kills and two solo blocks on the year ... kills came in home matches vs. Toledo and Buffalo ... had a block in that UB match, as well as against St. Francis (Pa.).
1998: Sat out the season, her first at BGSU, as a redshirt.
High School: Graduated from Marion Elgin High School ([apos]98) ... earned three letters, helping the Comets to Mid Ohio Athletic Conference titles in each of her last two years ... team qualified for at least the state semifinals all three years, finishing as runner-up in both 1995 and 1997 ... earned First-Team All-Ohio honors and was the Central District Division III Player of the Year as a senior ... earned second-team all-league honors and Central District honorable mention as a junior ... Comets went a combined 76-10 over her three years, including 36-3 in MOAC action ... also earned four basketball letters, attaining First-Team All-MOAC and All-District 11 honors as a senior ... garnered all-state honorable mention on the hardwood in 1997-98 ... attended Ridgemont High School in Ridgeway, Ohio, as a freshman ... National Honor Society member.
Personal: Kristin Holly Gamby was born Jan. 1, 1980 ... daughter of Steve and Pat Gamby ... has an older brother and a younger sister ... an accounting major at BGSU ... has a 3.20 GPA ... member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes ... father was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1974 ... he played two years of minor league baseball, including a year for former Pittsburgh Pirates and Florida Marlins manager Jim Leyland ... brother, Mike, majored in accounting and played basketball at Capital ... sister, Rebecca, played for the Lady Lasers softball team.
