In between stints at Chico State, Irving served as the men’s liaison for the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League where he organized and managed tournaments, including the playing schedule, for 31 college club teams in the southern California region. While at SCCVL, Irving was part of the national rankings committee for the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation.
Irving also worked at Sonoma State from 2016 until 2018, serving as the head coach of the men’s club volleyball team. During this time, Irving worked as an Adapted Physical Education Specialist for the Santa Rosa City School District, working with students with disabilities in a physical education setting.
Irving’s coaching career began at Butte College as an assistant coach, taking over strength and conditioning responsibilities for the program. He also worked with Gold Medal Squared for eight years, working with 30+ high school camps across 15 states.
Born and raised in Chico, California, Irving graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education. At Azusa Pacific, Irving helped re-create the men’s club volleyball team and served as the team’s treasurer for one season and president for one season. The team finished fifth in the nation at the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation National Tournament in 2010.
