Nosal first came to BGSU as the running backs coach for the 2020. In 2021 he was moved to tight ends and in 2022 elevated to co-offensive coordinator under former head coach Scot Loeffler. In 2023 Nosal moved to coaching the offensive line and served as the run game coordinator.
Bowling Green’s offensive line under Nosal's guidance was the unsung hero of the Falcons’ explosive 2024 offense, anchoring a unit that allowed quarterback Connor Bazelak to deliver one of the most efficient and productive passing seasons in program history. Behind their consistent protection, Bazelak completed 269-of-402 passes for 3,044 yards and 18 touchdowns—adding two more scores on the ground. His 66.9 percent completion rate ranked second all-time at BGSU, first in the MAC, and 14th nationally, while his 3,044 passing yards led the MAC and ranked 26th in the nation, placing him ninth on the program’s single-season list. The offensive line’s performance was especially crucial in facilitating the historic season of tight end Harold Fannin Jr., who became the first consensus All-American in BGSU football history. Thanks in large part to the time and space created by the line, Fannin led the nation in both receptions and receiving yards—shattering FBS single-season records for a tight end and becoming one of the most dominant offensive weapons in college football.
In his first year as the Bowling Green tight ends coach in 2021, Christian Sims earned 2021 first-team All-MAC honors after leading the league's tight ends with 41 receptions and 418 receiving yards.
Nosal came to Bowling Green after spending time at his alma mater Virginia Tech, as well as fellow ACC brethren Miami and most recently at East Carolina of the AAC.
At East Carolina, Nosal was an offensive analyst, assisting in the coaching and development of the offensive line. Among other duties, he also ran the front seven on the defensive scout team and was responsible for the oversight of the quality control staff and graduate assistants.
Â
Prior to his time at East Carolina, Nosal worked at Miami (Fla.) from 2016-19, beginning as a graduate assistant with the offensive line and moving on to a quality control position with the offense. Nosal began his coaching career at Virginia Tech, serving as a graduate assistant with the tight ends from 2013-14 and then with the offensive line from 2014-16.
Â
A two year starter at left guard, Nosal played for Virginia Tech from 2007-11. He was a member of three ACC Championship teams and squads that went to a bowl game in each season. He was Virginia Tech's Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2010 and an honorable mention All-ACC player in 2011.
Â
Nosal is a two-time graduate of Virginia Tech, earning his bachelor's degree in 2011 and his master's degree in 2016.
Nosal and his wife, Cheyenne, were married in July of 2022. They have one son, Tripp.
