Levi Phillips joined the Bowling Green State University athletic department in December 2023 as the new Director for Creative Services and Brand Management. In his current role with the Falcons, Phillips oversees graphic and social media content across the BGSU Athletics landscape.
Before arriving at BGSU, Phillips served as an Art and Digital Media Teacher at St. John’s Jesuit High School in Toledo. At SJJ, Phillips cultivated a collaborative team-based learning environment that fostered students’ curiosity and creativity in areas such as art history, photography, graphic design, videography, UX/UI, contemporary global cinema and digital media marketing.Â
Prior to his time at SJJ, Phillips worked at Madhouse Creative as a producer for film and video. In his role, he worked with creatives and clients such as the Toledo Art Museum, The University of Michigan, Owen Corning, Mercy Health and more. He conducted on-site and studio work, including filming, editing, color correction and photography along with copywriting written content for Fortune 500 clients.
Phillips broke into the creative industry as a creative director and communications specialist for various nonprofits, including Cherry Street Mission, Soma City Church and Mainstreet Church. In his role, Phillips directed visual communications, including photography, color matching, print materials and design. He spearheaded digital fundraising campaigns, leveraging his content creation and marketing skills while overseeing a volunteer team of 70+ individuals.Â
Phillips is a graduate of the University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish while participating in the undergraduate section of the MBA program. He also worked as a customer service manager at the University of Toledo Recreation Center while enrolled.Â
