Steve Serratore

Steve Serratore enters his first season as the baseball program’s volunteer assistant in 2019. Serratore comes to Bowling Green after a successful stint as a hitting/catching coach at Des Moines Area Community College from 2017-18.
At BGSU, Serratore works with the Falcon catchers, and assists with the hitters and base runners. He also serves as Bowling Green's first base coach, and is in charge of compiling scouting reports, while alo taking the lead on camps.
A number of players experienced career years under Serratore’s guidance at DMACC in 2017-18. First baseman/outfielder Austin Murr was named First Team All-Region after posting a .470 batting average with 52 RBI. Catcher/infielder Matt Krambeck and outfielder Calen Schwabe were tabbed as Second Team All-Region selections, respectively. Both players hit over .355, while Schwabe was also named a Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner.
DMACC finished in second place in the conference tournament during Serratore’s lone season, as the team collectively hit .322 with 96 doubles, 19 triples, 48 home runs and 86 stolen bases. While at DMACC, among other duties, Serratore was in charge of hitting and defensive development, along with creating lesson plans and hitting programs.
Serratore has already been hired to be a hitting coach for the Mankato Moondogs of the Northwoods League for this upcoming summer.
A standout player at Kansas State from 2014-17, Serratore was an All-Big 12 Defensive Team selection as a third baseman. He hit .292 with 42 RBI as a senior in 2017. Serratore received his bachelor’s degree in history from Kansas State in the spring of 2016.
