Today we reveal the No. 7 moment from 2014-15.
BGSU Student-Athletes Excel In The Classroom, Breaking Academic Records
Any way you slice it, BGSU student-athletes are breaking records in the classroom. Whether you judge based on grade point averages, degrees, awards or academic recognition, Bowling Green's student-athletes excelled in 2014-15. BGSU Athletics boasted a school-record 3.186 grade point average following the spring, 2015 semester, with 64 student-athletes carrying a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring semester (CLICK HERE for story). Four Falcon teams received NCAA Public Recognition for ranking among the top 10 percent of their sport in the most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate -- the most in the Mid-American Conference (CLICK HERE for story). Eight student-athletes were named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week during the school year, while 119 were Academic All-MAC and 49 were MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athletes. Pat Flynn, Tyler Tate and Brooke Pleger were Academic All-Americans and BGSU's women's teams have earned the league's FAR Award for best academic success in the conference in both 2013-14 and 2014-15. Most importantly, 53 student-athletes earned their degrees in the spring (CLICK HERE for story). It's truly been a record-breaking school year in the classroom.
