Moment No. 6 Of 2014-15: Hockey Returns To National Prominence

Today we reveal the No. 6 moment from 2014-15.
Falcon Hockey Returns To National Prominence
In 2014-15, BGSU Hockey returned to the national polls for the first time in seven years, climbing to as high as No. 6 in the rankings. After sweeping a two-game series at Alaska Nov. 7-8, BGSU Hockey entered the USCHO.com poll at No. 19 with a 7-2-1 record. The Falcons made a slow, but continuous climb, moving to No. 18 the next week and No. 15 on Nov. 24. BGSU entered the USA Today poll at No. 15 that week as well. By mid-January, the Falcons were 13-3-4 and vaulted into the top ten at No. 7 on Jan. 12 (and No. 8 in the USA Today poll). The next week, the Orange and Brown peaked at No. 6 and remained there through the end of the month. Bowling Green was still No. 9 by the WCHA Final Five, but finished the year at No. 18 after a loss to No. 4 Michigan Tech and an NCAA Tournament snub. In total, the Falcons were ranked in the USCHO.com poll for each of the last 17 weeks of the season and should be considered as a team worthy of a top 20 ranking heading into the 2015-16 year.
