Bowling Green Cross Country Season Complete

UP NEXT: The Bowling Green State University cross country teams have completed the 1999 season. The BGSU women, under the direction of first-year head coach Cami Wells, placed 21st as a team at the 30-team NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet in Terre Haute, Ind., Saturday (Nov. 13).
The BGSU men, coached by second-year head coach Sterling Martin, did not compete at the regional meet.
LAST WEEKEND: The BGSU women's squad ran at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet in Terre Haute, Ind., Saturday (Nov. 13). The Falcons placed 21st of 30 teams at the race, hosted by Indiana State University.
Individually, the Brown and Orange were led for the sixth-straight meet by junior Christine Thompson. Thompson placed 44th in the 209-woman race. Nikki Monroe was 127th, while Brianna Killian placed 131st. Lisa Schroeder (132nd), Cyndi Bostdorff (138th) and Joy Echler (139th) also competed in the race. BGSU's six competitors in the race included three freshmen.

Sterling Martin has completed his second season as the BG men's cross country and track coach. Martin, a 1987 graduate of Drake University, came to BG after five seasons as men's cross country coach at his alma mater.
Bowling Green women's cross country coach Cami Wells wraps up her first season. Prior to coming to BG, Wells served as the head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach at Wichita State. Like Martin, Wells is a graduate of Drake University. She received her master's degree from Wichita State.
