WBGU Radio Named Flagship Home Of Falcon Hockey

The Bowling Green State University Athletic Department and WBGU-FM (88.1 FM) have reached an agreement on a one-year contract which will see WBGU become the flagship station airing all BGSU hockey games for the 1999-2000 season.
"We in the Department of Telecommunications are proud and delighted that BG Radio Sports is partnering with the Athletic Department to bring high quality broadcasts of BGSU hockey to Bowling Green and the surrounding community," said Peter Shiels advisor to WBGU radio.
"The Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization will dedicate the efforts of its members to insure that the BG hockey team, as well as the University are well represented both on and off the air," said BGRSO Sports Director Nick Luciano.
The signal at WBGU can be heard as far north as Perrysburg and Maumee and as far south as North Baltimore.
"We are delighted in having WBGU become our flagship station for hockey. This partnership is good for Bowling Green hockey," stated BGSU Athletic Director Paul Krebs.
The play-by-play position will again be handled by Bartt Davis.
The Falcon icers host the University of Toronto in an exhibition game on Saturday, October 9 (4:05 p.m.), before opening the regular season at Boston College on Friday, October 15 (7:00 p.m.).
