USCHO Releases Preseason Poll

Boston College is the preseason favorite, according to the U.S. College Hockey Online Preseason Poll for Division I men, released Monday. The position is not unfamiliar to the Eagles, who also finished first in preseason balloting in the 1998-1999 poll. National champion Maine finished second.
Boston College finished with 26 of the total 40 votes. Maine had seven first place votes, and the rest were split between third place Michigan State (1), fourth place North Dakota (4), fifth place Michigan (1), and the national champion runner-up, New Hampshire (1). 27 teams garnered votes, including relative newcomers Minnesota State-Mankato and Niagara.
The U.S. College Hockey Online Division I Men's Poll consists of 40 voters, including 27 coaches from hockey programs competing at the Division I level, and eight beat writers from across the country, and five voters with national interests.
The poll was conducted on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis, and published weekly by the Associated Press.
