BG Icers Fall At Ohio State

Columbus, OH - The Bowling Green hockey team suffered a 4-1 setback at Ohio State's Value City Arena Saturday night.
After a scoreless first period, Miguel Lafleche put the Buckeyes in front 1-0 with 1:40 remaining in the middle stanza when he chipped a shot over Bowling Green goalie Tyler Masters.
OSU took a 2-0 lead just 27 seconds into the third period as defenseman Andre Signoretti scored on the Buckeyes eighth power play of the game.
Bowling Green's lone goal came at the 6:27 mark when Curtis Valentine recorded his first collegiate short-handed goal. Seniors B.J. Adams and Zach Ham assisted on Valentine's third of the campaign.
The Buckeyes regained their two-goal lead 38 seconds later when Luke Pavlas connected during the same OSU power play.
Jean-Francois Dufour completed the scoring with 5:34 remaining in the contest.
BG netminder Tyler Masters made 22 saves, while OSU goalie Ray Aho was credited with 31 stops. The Falcons were held scoreless on their six power-play chances, while the Buckeyes scored on two of their 10 man-advantage opportunities.
The Falcons will take a 7-13 overall mark (6-10 in the CCHA) into next weekend's home non-conference series against Alabama-Huntsville. The Buckeyes improve to 8-14-2 overall and 4-11-1 in the CCHA.
