Women's Track Team Has Two Champions In Findlay Meet

The Bowling Green State University women's track team had two champions in the Alltel Indoor Track and Field Classic hosted by the University of Findlay over the weekend.
Christine Thompson captured the mile in a time of 5:06.77 while for the second successive week Andrea Cook increased her own school record in the pole vault winning the event in a height of 11-3. Last week, she cleared 10-11 3/4 to erase her own record from last season.
Two athletes placed second in their events. Mary Willems was second in the shot put where her best effort of 45-5 3/4 was good for runner-up honors in the event and Lisa Mariea was the runner-up to teammate Christine Thompson in the mile with a time of 5:15.04.
Other top five finishers for the Falcons included Lori Williams in the weight throw (5th, 52-2), the 3,200 relay unit of Cyndi Bostdorff, Joy Echler, Katrina Kerns, and Briana Killian who were third in a time of 9:43.36, Bostdorff in the 1,000 (4th, 3:04.55), Nikki Monroe in the mile (4th, 5:17.32), Jen Easterlin in the pole vault (4th, 9-0 1/4), and Erin Coleman in the pole vault (5th, 9-0 1/4).
