Norris, Rommeck Ranked Among NCAA Volleyball Leaders

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The NCAA has released the latest volleyball statistics, and Bowling Green State University is represented in several categories. Freshman Susie Norris (Bascom, Ohio/Hopewell-Loudon) and junior Caty Rommeck (Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) are ranked in digs and blocks, respectively, while the Falcons are listed in the first of those categories as a team. The NCAA statistics are current through matches of Oct. 1.
Norris, a left-side hitter, has moved up to fourth nationally with 4.71 digs per game. Rider's Evette Hoeffner paces the country with 5.24 digs per contest.
Rommeck, a middle hitter/blocker, is currently 11th in the country in blocks, averaging 1.60 blocks per game. BYU's Nina Puikkonen leads the nation with 1.85 blocks per game.
As a team, the Falcons are ranked seventh in the NCAA in digs, averaging 19.90 per game. The team leads the MAC in that category.
The Falcons (9-4 overall, 2-2 MAC) of head coach Denise Van De Walle begin a three-match road swing tonight (Oct. 4), heading to Toledo to take on the arch-rival Rockets. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at UT's John F. Savage Hall.
