Bowling Green State University senior forward Anthony Stacey was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for games played between Feb. 14-20.
Stacey helped the Falcons win a pair of home games over Kent and Eastern Michigan by scoring 24 points against Kent and 15 points in the Eastern Michigan game. He shot 61.6% (16-of-26) from the field in the two games and added nine rebounds and five assists.
Stacey became the BGSU career scoring leader in the Kent game and ended the week with 1,861 points, which is 13th on the all-time MAC list.
In addition, the Falcons moved back to the #1 spot on the national field goal percentage list.
According to the latest NCAA statistics, BG leads the nation shooting 50.4% from the field. Long Beach State (50.1%), North Carolina (50.1%), and Samford (50.0%) are the only other teams in NCAA Division I shooting 50% or better from the field for the season.
The Falcons are also 13th in the country in free throw percentage converting 74.9%.
Individually, sophomore center Len Matela is second in the country in field goal percentage shooting 64.6%. Brendan Haywood from North Carolina leads the nation shooting 73.5%.
Sophomore Keith McLeod also ranks among the national leaders in three-point field goal percentage hitting 48.9% of his attempts from beyond the arc which puts him fifth in the country.
