Mid-American Conference Announces Academic Honor Roll

The Mid-American Conference has announced its 2000 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll for student-athletes with at least a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average. First-year student-athletes were not eligible.
Basketball team honorees include Anthony Stacey from the men's squad, and Angie Farmer, Rachal Hamilton and Jaymee Wappes on the ladies' team.
The BG women's gymnastics had 10 student-athletes named to the honor roll: Amber Curry, Heather Dankmyer, Sarah Gaertner, Sarah Grealis, Lesley Malucci, Cristin McClellan, Kristin Molnar, Marny Oestreng, Mindy Untch and Kelly Verhoff.
The men's swimming and diving team was represented by Mike Griffin, Andy Jenkins, Matt Johnsen, Tom Mohlman, Chris Thomas and Kris Waechter, while the women's team swimming and diving squad was represented by Sarah Abell, Bethany Budde, Melissa Fuller, Jen Jarjosa, Kim Moden, Kelli Pydynowski, Kristin Semple, Ellyn Vreeland and Patti Wilson.
Women's softball led the spring sports with nine honorees including Lynsey Ebel, Holly Frantz, Andrea Genter, Jessie Milosek, Natalie Phillips, Renee Rosemeier, Nikki Rouhana, Rebekah Tipton and Academic All-American Erin Zwinck.
Five seniors (Matt Best, Joe Cheney, Alan Gilhousen, Matt Marcum and Mike Muzi) along with two juniors (Aric Christman and Scott Dukate) were honored from the baseball team.
Justin Gillham represented the men's golf squad, while Robyn Gaier, Angel Garrett, Missy Hinds, Kate Kolesnik, Shannon Sharp and Shannon Smith represented the women's golf team.
Tennis honorees included Brandon Gabel, Sonny Huynh and Michael Kossoff from the men's team, and Abby Bratton, Kelly Dredge, Tracy Howitt, Meghan Rhodes, Erika Wasilewski and Beth Wilson from the women's squad.
Track and field athletes recognized were Keith Battle, Eric Browning, John Hustler and Pete Lisi from the men's squad, and Andrea Cook, Jennifer Easterlin, Beth Kohler, Cindy Stanfield and Lori Williams on the women's team.
The Central Collegiate Hockey Association, which BG is a member of for men's hockey only, recognized the following Bowling Green student-athletes for their academic achievement at the CCHA Awards banquet last March: Zach Ham (first team), Grady Moore (honorable mention), Marc Barlow (special mention), Louis Mass (special mention), Doug Schueller (special mention), Joe Statkus (special mention), Curtis Valentine (special mention), Ryan Wetterberg (special mention) and Dennis Williams (special mention).
