Women's Soccer Tabbed For Eighth In MAC Preseason Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has released the 2000 preseason poll for women's soccer, and the Bowling Green State University squad was picked to finish eighth of 12 teams. The poll was the result of a vote by the conference's 12 head coaches.
The Falcons of first-year head coach Andy Richards received a total of 48 points, as just eight points separated the teams picked seventh through 11th. Richards will begin his first season in Bowling Green with no fewer than 20 returning letterwinners.
The Falcons will begin the 2000 campaign with a pair of matches in Kent, Ohio. BGSU will face St. Bonaventure in the first match of the Kent Classic (Aug. 25) before meeting Bucknell two days later. After playing eight matches away from home, the Brown and Orange will begin the home portion of the schedule with a Sept. 29 tilt vs. Northern Illinois at Cochrane Field.
Bowling Green finished with an overall record of 5-11-3 in 1999, placing 10th in the MAC with a 2-6-3 league ledger.
