INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University men's tennis team opened the season at the Butler Invitational last weekend (Sept. 15-17) in Indianapolis, Ind. No team scores were kept at the invite, which included Bradley, IUPUI and Marquette, in addition to host Butler and the Falcons.
The event was held at the Indianapolis Tennis Center.
Three Falcons captured singles flights, including junior Vitek Wild at the second level, junior Mike Kossoff at the fifth flight and sophomore Peter Gardonyi at the sixth flight. In doubles action, sophomore Geoff/Hiscox and freshman Nick Moxley teamed to win the flight-two title, while sophomore Micael Lopez-Acevedo and Kossoff captured the fourth-flight crown.
The Falcons are next in action on Oct. 6-8, hosting the BGSU/Keefe Invitational. Prior to that event, however, head coach Jay Harris and his team will host the BGSU Pro-Am (Sept. 30) as well as the annual Alumni Match (Oct. 1) at Keefe Courts.
