Falcons Place Sixth In Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's cross country team posted a sixth-place finish in Sunday's (Oct. 14) Wolverine Interregional. The 8,000-meter race, hosted by the University of Michigan, was held at the U-M Golf Course.
The host Wolverines, ranked 12th in the nation, won the six-team race with a team score of 18 points. U-M freshman Alan Webb won the race in a time of 25:12.
BGSU had a team total of 165 points, and the Falcons were led by sophomore Justin Perez. Perez was 19th in the 58-man race, finishing in a time of 26:59. Junior Dave Larson was the second Falcon to cross the line, placing 37th in 27:55.
Other BGSU finishers included senior Rob Glatz (38th, 28:06), sophomore Paul Niedzwiecki (43rd, 28:23), seniors Chad Kunkle (46th, 28:46), Austin Chapin (28:55) and Andy Artiaga (49th, 28:58), sophomore Philip King (52nd, 29:04), junior Nolan Fahrer (54th, 29:14), sophomore Steve Blasko (57th, 30:02) and freshman Kris Lachowski (58th, 30:18).
The Wolverine Interregional was the Falcons' final tune-up prior to the Mid-American Conference Championship. The league race is scheduled for Oct. 27.
