Bowling Green Swimming Defeats Wayne State

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Swimming and Diving team of Bowling Green State University won 10 of the 13 events at their home opener versus Wayne State, including a sweep of the relays. The Falcons defeated WSU 154-87.
Sophomores Jessie Humes and Jillian Coward won both of their entered events. Humes won the 1650 freestyle with a time of 8:39.07 and the 500 freesytle with a time of 5:23.88. Coward won the 200 free in 2:01.29 and the 100 fly, with a time of 1:01.91
The divers of BG also had a strong season opener with Molly Peterson winning the 1 meter with 199.35 points and Ryan Donley taking the 3 meter with 228.90 points.
Also winning events were senior Kim Moden, who took the 50 free with a time of 25.46 and Sarah Agnew, who won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.61. Not far behind Agnew was newcomer Erin Dilkes, who was second in the breaststroke to her teammate, with a time of 1:11.87.
The Falcons face conference teams Eastern Michigan and Toledo in their first conference match-up of the season on November 3 (11:00 a.m.) at Cooper Pool.
