Wenzel Leads BGSU to 73-57 Win Over IPFW

Bowling Green, Ohio - Sophomore Stefanie Wenzel came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points to lead host Bowling Green to a 73-57 victory over IPFW Thursday night in Anderson Arena. Wenzel, a guard from Sussex, Wisconsin, was six-of 13 from the field, two-of-three from three-point range and a perfect nine-for-nine from the line. She also had a career-best nine rebounds as BGSU improved to 2-4. The visiting Mastodons fall to 1-4.
Sophomore Kelly Kapferer matched her career-best with 15 points, while junior Kim Griech also had 15 points.
BGSU took control early and led 36-17 at halftime. The Falcons also were helped by 19-of-21 shooting from the free throw line and won the battle of the boards, 47-33.
IPFW was led by junior Hilary Kulik who had 13 points and freshman Courtney Nicley who chipped in 11 points.
The Falcons will next venture onto the court on December 4 for a 7 p.m. contest at Butler.
