Bowling Green, Ohio - Kris Kamann, a native of Monroeville, has been named assistant director of athletic communications at Bowling Green State University. He will join the Falcon staff later in April and will assist in overseeing media relations and publicity for BGSU's 22-sport intercollegiate athletic program.
Kamann is currently serving as assistant director of athletics media relations at Indiana State University where he oversees media services for women's soccer, women's basketball and baseball. Prior to joining the staff at Indiana State, Kamann worked on the sports information staffs at the U.S. Naval Academy and at his alma mater, Ashland University. In addition to his SID experience, Kamann also served as sports editor at the Monroeville Spectator and as an intern at WTOL-TV 11 in Toledo.
He earned a bachelors degree in Journalism/English in 1996 and will complete his masters degree in sports sciences from Ashland this May.
"We're very excited to have Kris joining our staff," said BGSU Director of Athletic Communications J.D. Campbell. "His experience in working with a large and diverse number of sport programs and his desire to return to northwest Ohio make him an excellent fit."
BGSU is one of only 13 institutions to compete in Division IA football and Division I hockey and men's and women's basketball.
