Women's Soccer Ranked Seventh In Ohio

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team has been ranked seventh among NCAA Division I schools in the state of Ohio. The ranking is the result of a preseason poll of the state's head coaches through the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA).
The Falcons of head coach Andy Richards were ranked second among the six Mid-American Conference schools in the state. Miami, which topped the Falcons in double overtime of last year's MAC Tournament final, was ranked first in the state, followed by Dayton, Wright State, Xavier, Cincinnati, Ohio State and the Falcons. Kent State was ranked eighth, while Ohio and Toledo rounded out the list of 10 schools.
There are a total of 14 NCAA Division I schools in the state of Ohio.
The Falcons, 10-10-1 last season, open the 2001 campaign with an August 26 exhibition match vs. Detroit. BGSU starts the regular season on Aug. 31 at Wisconsin-Green Bay.
