This was the Falcons ninth win by 12 points or more in MAC play.
This was BGSU's fourth straight win over Akron in Anderson Arena.
Senior Keith McLeod moved into fifth place on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,733 points, surpassing Charles Share who had 1,730 from 1946-50. With his three steals, he also moved into fourth place on the school's all-time list with 164 surpassing Antonio Daniels who had 162.
Defensively, McLeod limited Akron's Rashon Brown, who was averaging 20.1 points in MAC play, to just two points.
Senior Brandon Pardon tied his career-high with five three-point field goals made 9Ole Miss, earlier this season). He finished with a game-high 21 points and is averaging 17.7 points in the last three games.
Defensively, BGSU established season-bests for fewest field goals allowed (14), three-point field goals made (1) and points allowed (46). BGSU has not allowed a team to score 70 points for six straight games.
With the Falcon bench contributing 30 points, BGSU improves to 12-1 when their bench scores 20 points or more.
Junior Cory Ryan came off the bench to scored 12 points (4 of 5 from three-point range) and sophomore Josh Almanson added 11 and made all five of his field goal attempts.
Senior Len Matela had a career-high three blocked shots.
