Rob Blake Wins Gold With Team Canada

Bowling Green, Ohio - Former Bowling Green State University hockey player Rob Blake was a member of Canada's gold-medal winning ice hockey team on Sunday, Feb. 24, raising the total number of former BGSU student-athletes who have won gold medals to four.
Other former Falcons who have won gold in the Olympics have been Dave Wottle (800 meters, 1972, U.S.A.), Ken Morrow and Mark Wells (Ice Hockey, 1980, U.S.A.).
This was the second Olympics for Blake who also played for Team Canada in 1998. Blake finished the Games with one goal, two assists and was plus-2 in six games played.
Blake also becomes the second Falcon to win both the Stanley Cup and Olympic Gold in the same year. Morrow did it in 1980 with the N.Y. Islanders and Team U.S.A.
There have been nine Falcon hockey players who have played in the Olymics.
