The Falcons are now a season-best 13 games above .500 with an 18-5 record. During the last four years, BGSU has now averaged 18 wins per season.
The Falcons have won six of the last seven meetings against Marshall and four straight in Anderson Arena.
The Falcons shot a season-best 61.2 from the field, bettering their 61.0 effort established in the season opener against Ole Miss.
After Marshall cut a BGSU lead from 15 to 7 with 2:42 left in the first half. The Falcons outscored the Herd 27-10 from that point until the 15:12 mark in the second half., making 10 of 11 field goal attempts, including their first eight in the second half.
Senior Brent Klassen set a school-record for field goal percentage making all eight of his shots. He broke the previous record set by Skip Howard who made 10 of 11 shots against Eastern Michigan in 1974.
Klassen also had career-highs in points (16) and field goals made (8).
Senior Len Matela had his 29th career double-double. He had 23 points and 12 rebounds. His 11 free throws made also is a career-best effort. Matela moved into 15th place on the BGSU all-time scoring list surpassing Nate Thurmond (1,356). Matela has 1,363 points scored.
In the last two games, sophomore Josh Almanson has made eight consecutive field goal attempts.
The Falcons improved to 11-1 when their bench scored 20 points or more. The Falcon reserves contributed 25 points against Marshall.
Junior Cory Ryan (2/3 three-pointers) has made at least two long distance shots in each of the last four games. In that time, he is shooting 53.3 from beyond the three-point line (8/15).
