Volleyball Hosts Annual Spring Fling Tourney

The Bowling Green Women's Volleyball team will welcome seven teams into Anderson Arena this weekend for the annual Falcon Spring Fling Tournament. BG will play host to the University of Dayton, Eastern Michigan University, the University of Findlay, Grand Valley, IPFW, Miami University, and Ohio University.
The Falcons open up competition at 9 a.m. this Saturday, April 6 with the University of Findlay. BG will then take on Dayton at 11 a.m., Ohio at 1 p.m. and Miami at 3:30 p.m.
BG returns eight players from its successful 2001 campaign. Kristin Gamby is the lone senior on the squad while the junior class contains four members, including Laura Twyman, Sara Sikorski, Nadia Bedricky, and Susie Norris. The rest of the team is rounded out by a duo of sophomores in Bridget Protas and Melissa Mohr.
In 2001, BGSU posted a 21-8 record, a 12-6 Mid-American Conference mark, and a second consecutive East Division Title before losing in the semi-finals of the MAC tournament to Ball State. The Falcons posted their third consecutive 20-win season in 2001.
