BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Jill Conover is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Conover, a senior forward on the BGSU women's soccer team, scored the lone goal of the match in the Falcons' 1-0 win over Pittsburgh Friday (Sept. 13). For Conover, the goal was the 17th of her career, moving her into sole possession of third place on the school list.
The goal also extended Conover's own BGSU career record to 57 points. A native of Grand Island, N.Y., she assumed sole possession of first place on another BGSU career list, as the match-winning goal was the sixth of her career.
BGSU went 1-1 last week, with the win over Pitt and a 1-0 loss to Missouri Sunday (Sept. 15). Both matches were played at the Ohio State Tournament.
Conover has a 3.81 cumulative GPA as a computer science major.
The Falcons (3-2-1, 1-0-0 MAC) host a pair of Mid-American Conference matches this weekend, taking on Miami Friday (Sept. 20) at 4:00 p.m. and Ball State Sunday (Sept. 22) at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will be played at Cochrane Field.
