BGSU Hockey Game vs. Michigan State to be Televised

Farmington Hills, Mich. - The Central Collegiate Hockey Association, which is entering its 32nd season of college hockey this year, today announced the release of its 13-game CCHA television schedule on Fox Sports Net Detroit. Among the scheduled "Games of the Week" to be broadcasted is Michigan State at Bowling Green on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7:30 p.m., in the BGSU Ice Arena.
Bowling Green was the site of a "Game of the Week" last season when the Falcons defeated Northern Michigan, 6-0, on Feb. 23.
In March, Fox Sports Net will travel the "Road to the Joe" beginning with coverage from a campus site of a first-round game in the CCHA Tournament . That's to be followed by both semifinal games and the Mason Cup championship game during CCHA Super Six Championship Weekend at Joe Louis Arena from March 19-22. The semifinal matchups will air live while the championship game, to be played on Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m., will be broadcast on a tape delay basis on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
Matt Shepard and Ken Daniels will share play-by-play duties throughout the season. Fred Pletsch returns for a third season as analyst with Shireen Saski serving as the rinkside reporter.
In addition to his game telecast duties, Daniels will once again host "CCHA Weekly," a 30-minute magazine, that provides in-depth coverage of the league, including behind-the-scene looks into the day-to-day lives of the league and its teams. The show, which was nominated for a Regional Emmy award this year, will begin its 10-week run on January 18.
The conference will also be showcased on a weekly CCHA Update segment to be featured on selected Fox Sports Net telecasts of the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings. Fox Sports Net will also provide additional television coverage of college hockey during the annual Great Lakes Invitational Tournament on December 28-29.
CCHA coverage on Fox Sports Net is available to more than 2.8 million cable and satellite households throughout Michigan and portions of Northwest Ohio and Northern Indiana. On the next page is the complete 2002-03 CCHA television schedule on Fox Sports Net.
