LONE EXHIBITION GAME FOR THE FALCONS
Wednesday night's game with the Howard Pulley All Stars is the squad's lone exhibition game this season. Howard Pulley is a group from Minnesota that also is scheduled to play at Ohio on Thursday night. They were defeated by Northern Iowa, 89-79, on Saturday night. Admission is free.
FALCONS LOOKED UPON TO CONTEND FOR MAC WEST TITLE
The MAC News Media Association has tabbed Bowling Green to finish second in this year's 2003-04 preseason poll. However, The Sporting News, Street and Smith's Basketball Preview and Basketball News picked the Falcons first in their preseason publications.
BGSU RECEIVES VOTES IN ESPN/USA TODAY POLL
The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team received votes in the ESPN/USA Today Preseason Poll and was ranked 48th in the country.
NETTER NAMED PRESEASON ALL-MAC
Bowling Green State University senior center Kevin Netter was selected to the preseason All-MAC squad by the MAC News Media Association. Ten of the league's top men's basketball players (five from the West Division and five from the East Division) wee chosen as announced by the league office.
Netter led the Falcons in scoring (15.3) and field goal shooting (54.7%) and also ranked among MAC leaders in blocked shots (38) and free throw attempts (205). He improved his scoring nearly 11 points per game from his sophomore to junior seasons and was named honorable mention All-MAC at the end of the season.
IOWA COACH STEVE ALFORD WILL BE FEATURED SPEAKER AT TIP-OFF BANQUET
The Bowling Green Men's Basketball Tip-Off Dinner and Raffle will be Wednesday, November 12, 2003, in the ballroom of the Bowen Thompson Student Union. The social begins at 6:30 with dinner at 7:30. Please call the basketball office at 419-372-2255 for tickets or more information.
