The Falcons saw their three-game winning streak snapped.
The Falcons currently have the seventh best-league record and can assure hosting a first-round MAC Tournament game (March 8) with a win against Western Michigan or a combination of one loss each by three of the following: Eastern Michigan, Akron, Ohio or Marshall.
The 81 points scored by the Cardinals marked the first time in 33 home MAC games that a BGSU opponent has scored 80 points or more in Anderson Arena (Central Michigan, 92, 1/6/01).
BGSU was outrebounded (39-35) for the first time in six games.
The Falcons led by as many as eight points, 30-22 with 3:42 remaining in the first half.
Junior John Reimold had a team-high 25 points, the seventh time this season he has scored 20 points or more. He also had four three-pointers or more in a game for the eighth time this season.
Sophomore Steven Wright had 11 points and six rebounds. It was the fifth time in eight games he has scored in double digits.
Junior Josh Almanson had nine points and with his three-point basket, has now made seven straight three-pointers since February 7 (at WMU). He is averaging 12.3 points in the last four games.
Freshman Chris Hobson played a MAC season-high 14 minutes. He had two points, and a rebound, assist and steal.
