BGSU's Jordan Sigalet Named All-CCHA First Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University goaltender Jordan Sigalet has been named All-Central Collegiate Hockey Association First Team, as voted on by the league's 12 head coaches. Sigalet becomes the first Falcon to be named All-CCHA First Team since Adam Edinger in 1999 and just the fourth Falcon in the last 10 years.
Sigalet has played in 35 games for head coach Scott Paluch this season and leads the nation in total saves (1,063), shots faced (1,158) and minutes played (2,092:54). He is 24 saves away from breaking BGSU's single-season save record of 1,087 set in 2000-01 by Tyler Masters. The Surrey, British Columbia native has a 2.72 goals-against-average and .918 save pct. with a 10-15-9 record in net.
The junior netminder has been named CCHA Defensive Player of the Week three times this season and broke a 29-year-old school record on Oct. 17 with 56 saves in a 5-3 win at Notre Dame. He has recorded 40-or-more saves in a game six times this season and 14 times in 68 career games. This year, he is 4-1-1 when he has had to make 40-plus saves.
Also this season, Sigalet has played in all 11 BGSU overtime games, registering a 1-1-9 record. He has allowed just one goal in 54:11 minutes of overtime with a .972 save pct. during that span.
Sigalet is the career leader at Bowling Green in save pct. (.914) and is second in goals-against-average (3.02). He is ranked 7th all-time in career saves with 2,107.
