Bowling Green, Ohio - Junior John Reimold took home two awards at the 2003-04 Bowling Green State University Men's Basketball banquet on Monday night. Reimold received the Antonio Daniels Most Valuable Player award and shared the Team Captain Award with sophomore Germain Fitch.
Reimold drained a team-high 65 3-pointers, finished second on the team with 15.1 ppg., and was third with 76 assists. He scored a season-high 29 points against Eastern Michigan on Jan. 3 while tying a career-high with 11 field goals. Reimold was among the top-10 in the Mid-American Conference in 3-point FG pct. (39.9) and scoring.
Fitch played in 14 games after recovering from off-season knee surgery. He averaged 1.9 ppg., 1.9 rpg., and shot 54.5 pct. from the field.
Junior Cory Eyink earned the Earl Rupright Spirit Award while sophomore Steven Wright was given the Most Improved Player award. Eyink played in all 31 games with 15 starts and finished with 4.9 ppg. and 2.9 rpg. Wright appeared in 29 games with 26 starts and finished with 6.5 ppg. and 4.2 rpg. He finished with a team-high 53 steals and 115 assists, and connected on 80 pct. of his free-throw attempts.
