D'Arcy McConvey Named to Academic All-District IV First Team

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University's D'Arcy McConvey has been named to the Verizon Academic All-America Men's At-Large District IV First-Team, as voted on by Sports Information Directors from the states of Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
To be nominated, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team is a part of the CoSIDA Academic All-America program. First team selections will appear on the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Men's At-Large team to be announced June 15.
McConvey, a native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, completed his four-year career with the Falcon Hockey team this past spring. He held a 3.91 grade-point-average while majoring in financial economics and was a two-time CCHA All-Academic First-Team member. The forward was named BGSU's Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2004 and was a 2003 Verizon Academic All-District IV Third Team member. McConvey was a candidate for a Canadian Rhodes Post-Graduate Scholarship. He also was a member of the BGSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and represented BGSU at the 2003 NCAA Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla. He served as team captain the past two seasons and led the team in scoring each of the last two years, while recording his 100th career point this season. McConvey finished his career by playing in 153-consecutive games
